LEADERSHIP COMPETENCE AND WORK PERFORMANCE OF MIDDLE-LEVEL HOSPITAL MANAGERS

Abstract


This study determines the influence of leadership competence and work performance of middle-level hospital managers. The descriptive-correlational and comparative design was utilized in this study. Pearson-product moment correlation was used to analyze the relationship between the variables. Data were gathered through a survey questionnaire from 25 middle-level hospital managers in five selected Level 2 hospitals. Mean was employed in analyzing the level of leadership competence and the level of work performance. A correlational test was used to analyze the significant relationship between leadership competence and work performance. The results show that the levels of leadership competence and work performance are high among of middle-level hospital managers. Meanwhile, there is a significant relationship between leadership competence and work performance of middle-level hospital managers.
